We are building a modular portable energy system designed for real‑world deployment and mass manufacturing.

This is not a consulting role.

This is not an advisory position.

This is a long‑term CTO role for someone who has taken hardware products into production and wants to own the technical reality of a company.

Chief Technology Officer (Hardware)

Modular Power Systems – Long‑Term Role

The Mission

You will take an existing concept‑level design and turn it into a manufacturing‑ready hardware platform, then own its evolution into production and scale.

Your responsibility is not to produce slides or roadmaps, but to make the product buildable.

What You Will Own

• Mechanical architecture and system integrity
• Manufacturing‑ready enclosure design
• Modular docking and interface systems
• Engineering standards and technical decision making
• Manufacturing readiness and supplier interaction (with the founder)
• Hiring and leading the future engineering team

Immediate Focus (First 3–6 Months)

• Lock mechanical architecture and interfaces
• Deliver production‑intent CAD and documentation
• Ensure the product can be quoted, tooled, and built
• Eliminate engineering risk rather than document it

Core Technical Scope

• Injection‑molded enclosure design
• DFM and DFA embedded from day one
• Single‑action modular docking system – short rotation under forty‑five degrees; load‑bearing and anti‑rotation
• Battery, BMS, inverter, and PCB integration
• Thermal airflow design intent
• Environmental design with IP55 design intent

Authority Model

You own:

• Technical feasibility
• Engineering trade‑offs
• Safety and manufacturability decisions

The founder retains final authority on:

• Cost ceilings
• Timelines
• Business risk
• Go or no‑go decisions

Clear ownership. No ambiguity.

Required Background

• Ten plus years in mechanical or hardware engineering
• Products shipped into manufacturing
• Experience with injection‑molded enclosures
• Experience with battery or power electronics housingsDirect interaction with contract manufacturers
• Fluent in SolidWorks, Fusion, NX, or Inventor
• Able to lead engineers, not just design parts
• Blender‑only profiles are not a fit

Compensation

• Competitive cash compensation (stage‑appropriate)
• Equity up to one percent, vesting over time
