Job summary

CellEDIT Process Development team at Cytosurge is seeking an independent Laboratory Technician to support our process development efforts focused on intracellular genome engineering using FluidFM technology. You will work hands-on in cell culture and molecular biology workflows in a fast-paced environment in Zürich, Switzerland.

The role emphasizes meticulous ELN documentation, proactive communication within the team, and a strong collaboration mindset to drive progress on engineered cell lines

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship as a laboratory technician or Master’s degree in cell biology, molecular biology or related field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a cell biology laboratory; industry experience is a strong advantage
• Solid experience in mammalian cell culture with different cell lines (iPSCs and/or suspension cells a plus)
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, genotyping and sequencing (Sanger and NGS)
• Ability to independently troubleshoot unexpected results and proactively find solutions
• Strong organizational skills and a diligent way of working in the lab
• A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, supporting different projects
• High proficiency in English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

• Passage, expand, cryopreserve and monitor mammalian cell cultures
• Independently plan and execute molecular biology experiments
• Troubleshoot experiments and technical issues
• Meticulously document experiments and results in our ELN
• Take on general lab management duties including ordering, inventory, stocking and aliquoting reagents
• Proactively communicate results and issues to the team in a timely manner
