A leading company in Basel is seeking a Business Objects Consultant to provide development and support for Business Objects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in report creation and modification, as well as support for users at varying skill levels. This position demands strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to user needs, working closely with a small team while maintaining focus on the quality of support provided to the client.

Qualifikationen

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience with Business Objects.
  • Detailed knowledge of Business Objects version 4.3.
  • Expert level knowledge of SQL.

Aufgaben

  • Provide all aspects of Business Objects development and support.
  • Create and modify reports and universes.

For one of our clients we are looking for a Business Objects Consultants in Basel, Switzerland.

Start: ASAP / latest start date 01.09.2025
Duration: 31.03.2026
Location: Basel - candidates must be living in or nearby Basel, CH
Fulltime
Team: The Business Object team consists of 2.5 people; they work closely with the Tableau team (3.5 people) and the Big Data team (3 people). The work is largely autonomous.

Business Objects has been used in the client for over 20 years. It is used to produce reports for all the business areas of the client. The BO Consultant might receive questions on how to open/create reports, need to help business areas, analyse requirements and build reports. The duties involve everything from helping users with little knowledge and experience with the tool, to dealing with experts as well as supporting, developing and enhancing of existing reports. There are over 1200 reports in the system. There has been a recent upgrade to the new version of Business Objects (BO 4.3).

Perfect candidate:
A technical expert, who has good ability to communicate, to pick up the phone and discuss the needs of the business areas.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• The role will be to provide all aspects of Business Objects development and support to our users at the client.
• Report creation/modification, universe creation/modification.
• The candidate must be adaptable and willing to work the occasional weekend or bank holiday for system changes/testing outside of normal working hours.
Skills:
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience of working with Business Objects (****)
• Detailed knowledge of Business Objects version 4.3 (****)
• Report creation/modification, universe creation/modification (****)
• Experience with Business Objects support to non-technical users (****)
• Expert level knowledge of SQL (****)

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Knowledge of Business Objects version BI2025 is a plus
• Knowledge of Infoburst is a plus
