A global market leader in active pharmaceutical ingredients is seeking a Bioprocess Engineer Downstream Processing for a 6-month contract with potential extensions. The role involves leading microbial fermentation campaigns, ensuring GMP compliance, and contributing to production expertise in capital investment projects.

Qualifikationen

  • Strong background in GMP and microbial fermentation.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.

Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a:

Bioprocess Engineer Downstream Processing (DSP)

for a 6-month contract, with chances of extension afterwards, based in the area of Valais, Switzerland.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and support microbial fermentation manufacturing campaigns, ensuring seamless execution and operational readiness.
  • Prepare and review GMP-compliant batch documentation and perform risk assessments (SHE, EM, operations, cleaning) for assigned products.
  • Execute production activities per cGMP guidelines, including troubleshooting, deviation handling, and CAPA implementation.
  • Contribute as a production expert in capital investment projects, overseeing equipment setup, commissioning, and qualification.
  • Develop, update, and validate DeltaV recipes and support MES system integration.
  • Coordinate facility changeovers and collaborate with Engineering and workshop teams for campaign readiness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
  • Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field (BS/MS/PhD) with relevant experience.
  • Strong GMP background, microbial fermentation expertise, and systems knowledge (DeltaV/MES preferred).
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
