Lonza in Visp, Switzerland, is recruiting a Bioprocess Engineer to support manufacturing of therapeutic proteins in either mammalian or microbial systems. You will lead USP or DSP operations, ensuring safe, compliant production and on-time release of products.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or equivalent in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or Life Sciences, or a Bachelor’s with pharma production experience.
• Knowledge of USP units (e.g., bioreactors) or DSP units (e.g., chromatography).
• 2+ years of biomanufacturing experience; GMP experience and bioprocess understanding.
• Excellent English; German language skills are a plus.

Aufgaben

• Ensure operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing meet on-time, safety and quality standards.
• Act as functional lead for preparation, manufacturing execution, cleaning and changeover in assigned area.
• Lead defined USP areas (seed train, main cultivation or harvest) for production of therapeutic proteins ( mammalian or microbial).
• Oversee DSP areas (gain, polishing or filling) for purification of therapeutic proteins.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure that operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing are performed on-time and within given safety and quality standards
• Act as the functional lead for preparation, manufacturing execution, cleaning and changeover in the assigned area
• Lead of one or more defined USP areas (e.g. seed train, main cultivation or harvest) for the production of therapeutic proteins with either mammalian or microbial expressions systems (Bioprocess Engineer USP)
• In charge of one or more defined DSP areas (e.g. gain, polishing or filling) for the purification of therapeutic proteins from either mammalian (Bioprocess Engineer DSP)

Key requirements:

• Master-s Degree or equivalent experience in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related Life Science subject, or Bachelor-s holder with experience in pharma production
• Knowledge in either USP (such as bioreactors) or DSP units (such as chromatography)
• Couple of years working experience in biomanufacturing required GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology
• Excellent communication skills in English, good German skills of advantage
