Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich's Biomedical Data Science Lab invites applications for a Scientific Assistant to support data-intensive projects in biomedical imaging and clinical research, focusing on pediatric sepsis, SCI data, and longitudinal analyses.

The role combines hands-on data analysis with coordination of scientific activities, collaboration with clinicians and researchers, and preparation of publications and grant applications. Proficiency in R and Python and EMSCI experience are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• MSc or equivalent in statistics/biostatistics/data science/biomedical engineering/computer science/epidemiology/neuroscience.
• Strong background in statistics and/or machine learning.
• Experience with longitudinal and/or clinical datasets.
• Strong programming skills in R and/or Python.
• Experience with EMSCI data or large SCI databases is desirable.

Aufgaben

• Conduct statistical and machine-learning analyses using EMSCI and related SCI datasets.
• Develop and validate predictive models of neurological recovery and functional outcomes after SCI.
• Perform data preprocessing, quality control, harmonisation, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis.
• Apply regression, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, and ML methods.
• Develop reproducible analytical workflows in R and/or Python.
• Contribute to scientific publications, reports, and grant applications.
• Collaborate with clinicians, neuroscientists, statisticians, and data scientists across participating SCI centres.
• Support coordination of scientific meetings, workshops, and consortium meetings.
• Assist with coordination of ongoing projects and deliverables.
