Infomaniak is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Hosting) in Geneva to help shape the future of web hosting. You will work on a modern, scalable architecture while prioritising quality, reliability and user experience in every iteration.

You will design APIs, contribute to Kubernetes-based orchestration and security practices, and collaborate with a skilled team to deliver robust hosting solutions. The role is permanent and full-time at 80-100% capacity.

Qualifikationen

Backend Software Engineer (Hosting)

Context:

The Public Hosting team’s mission is to design the future of web hosting at Infomaniak. We are transforming our historic solutions to launch a new generation of offers, supported by a modern and scalable architecture, placing quality, reliability and user experience at the heart of every technical iteration.

Your responsibilities:

• Stack Modernisation: Actively participate in the transition of hosting solutions towards an orchestrated architecture (Kubernetes).
• Abstraction & API-First: Design the abstraction layers (APIs) necessary to mask the complexity of the infrastructure.
• Quality and industrialisation: Ensure product stability and maintainability through test automation and strong involvement in code reviews.
• Reliability and security: Guarantee the integrity and confidentiality of user data by applying best security practices (encryption, API hardening, etc.)

Profile sought:

• PHP / Laravel expertise: You have solid experience in modern PHP (version 8+) and master complex architectural patterns. Ideally through the use of the Laravel framework.
• Mastery of APIs & Microservices: Ability to design robust, high-performance and well-documented APIs.
• Infrastructure affinity: You conceive infrastructure as a programmable object.

A plus if you have knowledge in:

• Experience with Kubernetes, GitLab CI is a plus.
• Experience with automatic management of SSL certificates (ACME/Let’s Encrypt)
• Knowledge of shared hosting environments is a plus
• Open source contributions or side projects are appreciated
• You enjoy working in a team and demonstrate positive communication
