You will own critical components end-to-end, implement scalable APIs, monitor performance, and contribute to security and sender reputation. The position is fully remote with flexible hours and occasional travel for team off-sites and meetups.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Backend Engineer, MTA based in Switzerland.

This is an opportunity to build and operate the backend infrastructure that powers high-volume email delivery at scale. You’ll work on critical systems spanning SMTP delivery, routing, retries, throttling, and delivery controls. The role combines backend engineering with the complexities of distributed systems, email infrastructure, and sender reputation. You’ll help create reliable, observable systems that make sending behavior safer and easier to operate. You’ll collaborate closely with Trust & Safety and Core Sending teams while taking significant ownership of technical problems and solutions. The position is fully remote, with flexible working schedules and occasional travel for team off-sites, conferences, and meetups.
