Job summary

Proton is seeking a highly skilled software engineer to join our multi-disciplinary MSA team in Geneva. You will design, build, and operate backend and frontend systems, using Python, PHP, Go, and React, and apply AI agents to accelerate coding.

You will lead development through planning, design, QA, and deployment in a product-driven startup environment. The role offers hybrid work with the option to work from home up to 30%, excellent learning opportunities, stock options, and a strong

Qualifications

• Deep experience with backend development using Python, PHP, or Go.
• Experience applying AI agents for coding.
• Frontend design and development with JavaScript, React, or TypeScript.
• Experience building complex production systems.
• Experience with data processing and storage (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, Elastic, Ceph, ClickHouse).
• Ability to work autonomously and lead development end-to-end.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Proton systems with engineers and analysts.
• Develop user-facing features frontend and backend.
• Lead planning and development as Product or Project Manager.
• Ensure operational excellence of systems and integrations.
• Contribute to Python, PHP, or React-based components.
