World Aquatics invites athletes to join its Athlete Intern program in Lausanne to gain hands-on experience in sports management. You will contribute to major events and development opportunities while transitioning from competition to a career in the sports industry.
You will work with the Sports and Development operations team, liaising with local organisers, National Federations and multiple departments to support and run competitions and programmes scheduled for 2027.
As an Athlete Intern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience within the global governing body of aquatic sports. This role not only allows you to contribute to major events but also helps you transition from competition to a career in sports management. As part of WORLD AQUATICS’s commitment to support athletes through all its stages, we are pleased to launch a programme for athletes aimed at offering opportunities within WORLD AQUATICS Office to gain experience in sports management and to develop and deliver the future of our sports events as well as to develop our sport through a new initiative - the WORLD AQUATICS Athlete Intern Position!
You will be an integral member of WORLD AQUATICS’s Sports and Development operations team. You will have real job responsibilities with an immediate impact on a calendar full of exciting sports events, or Development opportunities to support the sport in its growth and promotion. You will work with local organising committees, liaise with National Federations and operate between various WORLD AQUATICS departments and stakeholders to manage and run competitions and various programmes.
