Job summary

OHCHR in Geneva is seeking an Associate Human Rights Officer (TJO) to monitor the implementation of international human rights law and humanitarian law. The role reports to the Chief of Special Procedures and supports follow-up on recommendations from treaty bodies, the Universal Periodic Review, and special procedures to advance compliance and accountability.

The incumbent will contribute to the monitoring, analysis, and reporting processes, ensuring alignment with UN standards and coordination

ASSOCIATE HUMAN RIGHTS OFFICER (TJO) at OHCHR.

Grade: P-2. Location: Geneva, Switzerland. Application deadline: 28 October 2026. Under the general supervision of the Chief of Special Procedures and the direct supervision of the Chief of Special Procedures Rule of Law, Accountability and Civic Space (RACS 1), the incumbent will:

• Monitor the implementation of international human rights law and international humanitarian law, and support follow-up on recommendations from human rights mechanisms, including treaty bodies, the Universal Periodic Review, special procedures and investigative mechanisms, to advance compliance and accountability.
