DBS Asia Hub is seeking an application developer to join the Data Platform team. You will design and develop frameworks and services for data-centric enterprise solutions, collaborating with developers, product owners, data scientists, engineers, and analysts.

You will lead end-to-end SDLC and deliver scalable data pipelines and admin tools. You will work on data exploration, ingestion, transformation and consumption, with emphasis on robust architectures and continuous improvement.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant information technologies.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with Java, Spring Boot, Cloud.
• Hands-on experience in cloud native application development, API development and integration, microservices architectures.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas and decisions.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and deployment strategies.
• Strong SQL knowledge and relational databases.
• Kafka experience is a plus.
• Analytical, proactive, and collaborative team player.

Role Overview:

As an application developer within the Data platform team at the company, you will contribute to design and develop the frameworks and services of our data-centric enterprise solutions. Collaborating closely with development team, product owners, data scientist, engineers, business analysts and users. You will be responsible for designing robust, and scalable data pipelines, frameworks and tools that enable users to interact seamlessly with complex data sets, admin dashboards, and other data-related tools and services.

This involves leading the end-to-end systems development lifecycle, from initial planning and scoping to analysis and technical implementation, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable solutions to engineer big-data pipelines for various AI and ML use cases.
• Develop highly available, generic, metadata-driven frameworks, tools and services to solve various business problems related to data exploration, data ingestion, data transformation or data consumption.
• Participate in data-driven product development and work with team to formulate action plans to address issues/challenges/needs from the users/clients.
• Assimilate, validate, and prioritize business requirements.
• Analyse, Design, Define, Develop, Test and Deliver technical solutions, ensuring the quality of implementation.
• Manage production support such as incident resolution, deployments and maintenance with IT support teams to minimize business impact.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and continuous improvement.
• Streamline the software development lifecycle, improve deployment efficiency, and enhance overall software quality.
• Drive continuous process improvement to ensure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
• Analyse complex technical problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insights to decisionmakers.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Conduct research and perform proof-of-concepts (POCs) on new technologies and approaches to evaluate their feasibility of new ideas and solutions.
• Collaborate with users and stakeholders(delivery managers, product owners, data engineers, and business analysts) to deliver data pipelines and functionalities as per user requirements
• Participle in all phases of the Agile SDLC (software development life cycle) to plan and prioritise requirements.

Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in interaction design and relevant technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant information technologies.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with Java, Spring Boot, Cloud.
• Hands-on experience in cloud native application development, API development and integration, microservices architectures.
• Good communication skills to articulate thoughts and reasoning behind various ideas or decisions.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI-CD) processes with various deployment/release strategies.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases with hands-on experience in SQL.
• Experience with messaging platform such as Kafka would be added advantage.
• Analyses information logically and takes initiative in addressing responsibilities and problem-solving.
