Job summary

Swissgrid seeks a Senior ICT Architect to shape the digital future of its IT landscape from the Aarau headquarters. You will own and evolve domain architectures for the Market Business Unit and translate business needs into robust designs with security and resilience at the core.

You will monitor portfolios, drive improvements, and collaborate with security experts and fellow architects to ensure an efficient, future-oriented IT architecture aligned with corporate goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a university/ETH/FH is required.
• Several years of experience in planning, developing, and building cross-divisional IT architectures, ideally with critical infrastructure operators.
• Strong understanding of strategic and new technology trends and their practical application.
• Experience designing secure and resilient solutions (security by design).
• High goal orientation, solution orientation, and assertiveness.
• Strong conceptual and communication skills with pragmatism.
• Very good German and English; French is a plus.

Ensure electricity in Switzerland

In this exciting role, you play a central part in the development and implementation of the IT domain architecture for our Business Unit Market.

As part of the architects team, you take responsibility for the domain architectures in the mentioned Business Unit, design architectural solutions together with business and IT experts, and ensure that these meet business requirements and comply with architectural guidelines and standards.

In addition, you support the design and realisation of the cross-divisional enterprise architecture, thereby making a significant contribution to achieving our corporate goals. Your tasks include:

• Development, further development, and ongoing maintenance of domain architectures with regard to a cross-divisional overall architecture
• Translation of business and technical requirements into architectural designs and development of solution architectures using target images, roadmaps, and transition planning
• Monitoring the current solution portfolio, identifying critical deficiencies, legacy issues, and technical debts, and deriving concrete improvement measures
• Observing technological developments and assessing their potential for new and changing business requirementsFunctioning as a contact person for the use of new technologies and methods and supporting specific digitalisation and automation projects
• Continuous coordination with those responsible for information security and cyber security
• Collaboration with architects from other areas and enterprise architecture to design a future-oriented and sustainable IT landscape

• Good understanding of strategic and new technology trends and the practical application of existing and new technologies to evolving business requirements
• Experience in designing secure and resilient solutions (“security by design”)
• High goal orientation, solution orientation, and assertiveness
• Strong conceptual and communication skills combined with a healthy dose of pragmatism
• Very good German and English skills; French skills are a plus
