Zusammenfassung

CERN is seeking an Applied Physicist to join the ATLAS Group for upgrading the muon spectrometer, leading electronics integration for RPC detectors in the barrel region. The role includes installation, commissioning, and collaboration across QA/QC activities.

Required are a PhD or equivalent in Physics, strong experience with gaseous detectors and fast electronics, and leadership in small to mid-sized teams.

Qualifikationen

• PhD or equivalent in Physics or related field.
• Experience in design, debugging and operation of fast electronics for gaseous detectors.
• Knowledge of gas detectors physics and detector testing.

Aufgaben

• Lead production and testing of electronics boards (Front-End, LV, connections).
• Coordinate QA/QC activities and integration of boards into RPC detectors.
• Support installation and commissioning of chambers and detector components.
• Act as main contact with Technical Coordination during installation.
