Job summary

TOFWERK, eine Bruker-Tochter, sucht einen Application Scientist (m/w/d) in Thun, Schweiz, zur Demonstration von Produktfähigkeiten und zur Entwicklung von Anwendungen.

Sie arbeiten eng mit Vertrieb, Forschung, Ingenieurwesen und Produktion zusammen, führen Kundendemonstrationen durch, installieren Systeme und schulen Anwender weltweit.

Qualifications

• Master- oder PhD-Abschluss in life sciences oder verwandtem Bereich.
• Starke Kenntnisse in Massenspektrometrie und zugehörigen Technologien.
• Erfahrung in Anwendungs- und Methodenentwicklung, Probenvorbereitung und Datenanalyse.
• Fähigkeit, wissenschaftliche Ergebnisse zu interpretieren und zu präsentieren.

Responsibilities

• Entwickeln und Durchführen von Experimenten, um Produktfähigkeit zu demonstrieren und Ergebnisse zu kommunizieren.
• Kundendemonstrationen leiten sowie Methoden- und Anwendungsentwicklung durchführen.
• Zusammenarbeit mit internationalen Referenzkunden aufbauen und pflegen.
• Technische Expertise entlang des Customer Engagement-Prozesses bereitstellen.
• Systeminstallationen durchführen und Kundenschulungen vor Ort anbieten.
• Beiträge zu technischen und anwendungsorientierten Marketingmaterialien leisten.
• Testprotokolle und technische Dokumentationen für Handbücher und Produktionsübertragungen entwickeln.

Aufgaben/Verantwortlichkeiten

• Design and execute experiments to demonstrate product capabilities and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders
• Lead customer demonstrations as well as method and application development activities
• Build and maintain collaborations with international reference customers
• Partner with Sales teams and provide technical expertise throughout the customer engagement process
• Perform instrument installations and deliver customer training at customer sites
• Contribute to the creation of technical and application-focused marketing materials
• Develop test protocols and technical documentation for manuals and production transfer activities
• Act as a technical liaison between Research, Engineering, Software Development, Production, Quality, and Global Service
• Advise customers on experimental design, applications, and data interpretation
• Deliver technical knowledge through documentation, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
• Support system characterization, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations of complex instrument issues

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, or a related field
• PhD preferred
• Strong expertise in mass spectrometry and associated technologies
• Experience in application and method development, sample preparation, and data analysis
• Ability to interpret and present scientific results
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with technical documentation, training, and knowledge transfer
• Knowledge of method validation and statistical analysis
• Fluent in English; German is an asset
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
