ELCA invites applications for a 6-month internship starting Spring 2027 to explore sovereign, locally-run AI for complex legacy data migrations. You will test open-source LLMs, deploy models locally with Ollama/vLLM/Hugging Face, and build a prototype pipeline to analyze schemas and data while uncovering hidden business rules.

You will validate data quality and generate automated effort estimates, contributing to migration guidelines and pricing strategies.

Qualifikationen

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs).
• Familiarity with deploying models locally (Ollama/vLLM/Hugging Face).
• Interest in agentic AI and building benchmarks.
• Basic understanding of database schemas and data quality.
• Fluent in English; German or French a plus.

• Benchmark open-source LLMs for self-hosted sovereign infrastructure.
• Deploy candidate models locally and compare with cloud models.
• Design an automated pipeline to analyze legacy schemas, code and data.
• Uncover hidden business rules in legacy systems including .NET apps.
• Validate data consistency and assess a migration case.
• Generate automated effort and complexity estimates and migration guidelines.
• Define criteria for when a local model suffices in fixed-price bids.
• Evaluate trade-offs between self-hosted and cloud models.
• Shape how we scope fixed-price services for data sovereignty needs.
