About

In order to complete the team at STEP, the Municipality of Le Locle is offering the following position: Deputy to the STEP Manager at 100%.

Service

Wastewater Treatment Plant (STEP)

Activities

1. Ensure the operation and optimization of the Le Locle and Brenets STEP in the absence of the manager.
2. Ensure proper functioning of the STEP installations and the Actiflo, as well as maintenance of the buildings and their surroundings in the absence of the manager.
3. Perform chemical analyses of water and sludge, interpret results, and carry out necessary optimizations.
4. Maintain laboratory equipment, machinery, and devices.
5. Manage personnel-related tasks and administrative work.
6. Order, monitor, and control work, products, and materials in the absence of the manager.
7. Ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
8. Perform on-call duties.
9. Participate in the development of investment projects for the STEP and Actiflo.

Desired Profile

• Electrician CFC or equivalent qualification.
• Federal certification as STEP operator or willingness to obtain it.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in water and electrical domains.
• Additional training in toxins preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanics.
• Computer skills.
• Precision in laboratory analyses.
• Residence in Switzerland allowing to be at the workplace within 15 minutes.
• Category B driver’s license.
• Autonomy and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Flexibility and availability for on-call duties.
• Fluent in French (oral and written); knowledge of German or English is an asset.
