Job Summary And Requirements

This is for multiple Auxiliary On‑call (AOC) positions. Please note, AOC employee hours are intermittent and can include evening and weekend hours. This competition will result in both an AOC call list, as well as establish a 12‑month eligibility list.

At Tourism and Culture, we are a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to Yukon’s vibrant tourism, arts, heritage and culture, historic sites, and archival communities. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the YBIC Guide plays a key role in educating and inspiring the public about Beringia, an ancient land bridge that shaped Yukon’s natural and cultural history. The incumbent will design and deliver engaging interpretive programs, support daily operations, and ensure exhibits and audio‑visual equipment run smoothly. Essential Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education in heritage interpretation, education, natural sciences, heritage studies, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a museum or heritage site environment.
  • Experience developing and delivering interpretive or educational programs to diverse audiences in an asset.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

  • Ability to communicate complex scientific and historical concepts in an engaging and accessible way.
  • Strong public speaking and storytelling skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

  • Strong client service skills.
Additional Information

Conditions of Employment: Vulnerable Sector Security Clearance.

Job Requirements
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as required.
  • Relocation expenses will not be provided for this position.
