Central Alberta Youth Unlimited (CAYU) is a not-for-profit Christian organization that builds meaningful, long-term connections with vulnerable young people by meeting them on their turf. CAYU addresses the holistic health of young people: physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual.

Position Overview

TheYouth Engagement Ministry Staffwill minister to youth and families involved in the overall local Youth for Christ Youth Engagement program.

This position is for 30-40 hours per week and the salary and program funds are raised by the worker through personal ministry partnerships.

The Youth Engagement staff is responsible for the daily programming for youth. Duties include: managing and supervising volunteers, connections with youth, serving local schools as the need is known and arises, planning and execution of programs, fundraising and maintaining donor relationships, casting vision to reach the program’s goals and markers of impact.

Under the guidance of the Director of Youth Engagement, the Youth Engagement Ministry Staff are empowered to:

  • Implement overall ministry through evangelism, mentorship and discipleship. Participate in planning and engaging off-site programs.
  • Meeting with supervisor regularly, attending staff meetings, and praying for other staff.
  • Participate in recruiting and in the orientation of volunteers. Provide prayer support, resources and encouragement for volunteer staff.
  • Participate in fundraising for the Youth Engagement ministry by maintaining healthy donor relationships and assisting with all Central Alberta Youth Unlimited fundraising events.
  • Assist in communicating to parents of students involved in the program. Represent CAYU/YFC positively to the community and seek to work with other agencies and ministries.
  • Complete monthly Ministry Reports, adhere to the CAYU/YFC Staff Policy Manual, and abide by health and safety requirements.
  • Pursue an active, growing relationship with God by participating in a local church community and a small group or mentoring relationship.
