Position Purpose summary:
The Youth Coordinator coordinates activities associated with discipleship and outreach ministries to youth (for assigned age groupings) from the Church and the local community.
Internal: Participation in Youth Advisory Council, Mission Council and Pastoral Care Council, Corps Officer, volunteers, staff.
External: Community, clients.
Reports directly to: To be confirmed at time of hiring.
Direct reports: None
The incumbent is responsible as a group/work leader. He/She is responsible for providing direction and checking results, but generally works along with those supervised.
The incumbent manages between 1 - 6 volunteers.
The incumbent has input to and/or participates in preparing budgets with respect to the departmental budget.
The incumbent works in generally agreeable conditions, with the following exceptions:
Dealing with angry/upset youth and parents
Irregular hours (e.g. late nights, on-call)
Verbal abuse
The incumbent may have little to no travel required. The incumbent works on call, with unpredictable hours. The incumbent will be required to carry the youth department cell phone with them when on shift.
The job incumbent may be exposed to the risk of minor harm, injury or illness due to:
Physical attacks by others
Exposure to infectious diseases
Moving objects
Risk of sport related injuries
The successful job applicant will have completed high school, plus specialized courses of up to 6 months.
NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.
The performance of the job requires frequent set-up and clean up for activities, participating in sports activities, keyboarding, and occasionally transporting youth and standing.
The incumbent is required to lift more than 20 pounds.
The performance of the job requires attention when teaching, giving advice/peer support, studying and planning and development.
The target hiring range for this position is $48,048.00 to $60,070.40 with a maximum of $72,072.00. Placement
