Job summary

Marymound is seeking a Youth Drug Stabilization Worker to support the Youth Addictions Stabilization Unit and IPDA. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to stabilize youth from substances and explore community treatment options.

The role requires a Diploma in Child & Youth Care or related degree, with at least five years of youth support experience, and certification in NVCI/ASIST preferred. Training on hire may be provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Child & Youth Care or related degree required.
• Five years of direct youth support experience.
• Understanding of harm reduction in youth interventions.
• Trauma-informed approach essential.
• NVCI/ASIST training preferred; training provided if needed.
• Criminal record & vulnerable sector checks required.
• Indigenous culture knowledge or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate admission and discharge of youth with the team.
• Assess, implement and evaluate individual intervention plans.
• De-escalate crises using approved strategies.
• Prepare objective observation reports.
• Implement therapeutic interventions tailored to youth needs.
• Maintain daily logs and treatment records per licensing standards.
• Participate in staff meetings and cross-agency planning.
• Assist youth and families in accessing community resources.
• Engage in professional development and safety duties.
