Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Victoria, BC is seeking a Part-Time Yard Attendant for a Saturday shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This role supports site operations with a hands-on approach to cleanup, traffic direction, and safety compliance.

You will join a team that values reliability and safety, with benefits including health, vision and dental coverage, RRSP options, and opportunities for learning and growth. Must be capable of outdoor work in variable weather.

GFL Environmental is looking for a Part-Time Yard Attendant to join our Victoria, BC team with a one day a week schedule on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean up work areas.
• Work in accordance with Company and federal, state/provincial and local safety policies & procedures.
• Direct traffic at the site as necessary.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to follow instructions and perform duties under limited supervision.
• Ability to apply common sense reasoning to solve general problems.

Physical/Mental Demands

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach and lift in an outdoor environment 90% of the time.
• Ability to manually lift/move up to 65 pounds regularly.
• Ability to manually push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance from another employee.

Working Conditions

• Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, rainy/stormy, extreme hot and cold weather. conditions (depending upon season), moving mechanical parts, vibrations, toxic and caustic. chemicals, fumes and airborne particles.
• Work in outdoor environment up to 100% of the time.
