Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components.
  • Perform maintenance, repair or overhaul requiring component replacement.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and ensure inspections are completed.

Job description

Liebherr is on the lookout for a skilled Heavy Duty Workshop Technician to join our team and work hands-on with some of the most powerful mobile cranes in the industry.

Based in our state‑of‑the‑art workshop, you’ll use cutting‑edge diagnostic tools and receive world‑class OEM training to service and repair Liebherr equipment to the highest standards. From troubleshooting complex systems to performing precision repairs, every day brings new challenges—and new opportunities to grow.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox / drive train, etc. to resolve moderate to complex problems
  • Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul usually requiring component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical / hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
  • Perform pre‑delivery inspections of equipment and new & used equipment preparation
  • Occasionally perform servicing on Liebherr machinery as directed, including fluid checks, and sample pulling, oil and filter checks, changing lubricants, replacing filters, greasing machine lube points etc.
  • Ensure components, material and / or equipment is inspected, is corrected to specifications and ensure timely delivery programs are achieved
  • Ensure all final verifications specified in work instructions, scope of work, verbal communication and specifications are carried out and complete
  • Accurate and timely submission of reports and technical document including service reports
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policy
  • Other duties as assigned
Competencies
  • 5+ years of experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment; experience with mobile cranes and Liebherr cranes is an asset.
  • Fully licensed heavy equipment journeyperson required; truck and transport certification will be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • CVIP Certification an asset.
  • Previous Liebherr crane experience is preferred.
  • Machine re‑build background will be considered as an asset.
  • Ability to work a regular 5 / 2 shift (Monday to Friday).
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Strong skills in reading and understanding schematics and technical drawings.
  • Accurate completion of service reports and time entries.
  • Effective communication skills to convey detailed and complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
