Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Experience with mobile cranes and Liebherr cranes is an asset.

Job description

Join the Liebherr-Canada team as a Workshop Service Technician! In this hands‑on role, you’ll take pride in performing expert repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment right in our workshop. You’ll ensure every machine leaving the shop meets Liebherr’s high standards for quality, safety, and reliability—helping our customers stay productive and confident in their equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox/drive train, etc. to resolve moderate to complex problems
  • Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul usually requiring component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades
  • Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
  • Perform pre‑delivery inspections of equipment and new & used equipment preparation
  • Occasionally perform servicing on Liebherr machinery as directed, including fluid checks, and sample pulling, oil and filter checks, changing lubricants, replacing filters, greasing machine lube points etc.
  • Ensure components, material and/or equipment is inspected, is corrected to specifications and ensure timely delivery programs are achieved
  • Ensure all final verifications specified in work instructions, scope of work, verbal communication and specifications are carried out and complete
  • Accurate and timely submission of reports and technical documents including service reports
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policy
  • Other duties as assigned
Competencies
  • 5+ years of experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment; experience with mobile cranes and Liebherr cranes is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Strong skills in reading and understanding schematics and technical drawings.
  • Accurate completion of service reports and time entries.
  • Effective communication skills to convey detailed and complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently for extended periods.
