Job description

Open Door Group (ODG), a trailblazing non-profit organization serving communities across Canada, is looking for a Workshop Facilitator to join our team!

Pay: $30.20 to $31.89 per hour (Grid 31, Health Sciences Association Community Bargaining Agreement)

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours of Work: 36 Hours per week

Location: The primary work location for this position will be the Open Door Group office in Sechelt.

The Workshop Facilitator improves client employment readiness and independence through the delivery of competency-based training programs. This role also supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of curriculum, evaluates client progress toward training outcomes, and coordinates workshop scheduling to meet service delivery needs across all sites.

Facilitation and Curriculum Development Skills

  • Strong facilitation and instructional skills
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and practices to create inclusive learning environments for individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to adapt instructional materials and delivery methods to accommodate diverse learner needs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning and curriculum design principles.
  • Ability to foster and maintain a positive and productive learning environment, effectively managing group dynamics.
  • Ability to conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and emerging topics to enhance workshop content and delivery.

Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Social Services, Instruction or Facilitation
  • Recent, related experience of two (2) years or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work
  • Valid BC driver’s license and use of a motor vehicle
  • Must pass a criminal background check
