Job summary

A leading educational institution is seeking a remote Physiotherapist to deliver stroke rehabilitation exercises and assessments online. Candidates must hold a university degree in physiotherapy and have clinical experience in stroke rehabilitation. They will work under the guidance of the Department of Physical Therapy and support stroke patients through videoconference. This part-time position is restricted to the province of British Columbia.

Qualifications

  • Must have prior clinical experience including stroke assessments.
  • Experience working with stroke patients with disabilities.
  • Experience with videoconference rehabilitation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver chair-based exercises online.
  • Conduct assessments for stroke rehabilitation.
  • Facilitate rehabilitation programs via Zoom.

Job description

We are looking for a Physiotherapists who are interested in either :

Responsibilities
  • Delivering chair-based exercises 3 times per week (8 to 36 hours per participant), or
  • Conducting assessments (2.5 hours per participant) delivering exercise sessions online or running research assessment online.
  • Case load will depend on recruitment, but hourly rate is $55.
  • The candidate will be hired under the University of British Columbia Department of Physical Therapy and will assess and / or facilitate rehabilitation programs for stroke patients by Zoom videoconference.
  • The candidate will work from home and will report to Dr. Janice Eng and her research coordinators through emails, phone calls and Zoom meetings.
  • Data will be inputted into REDCap (training will be provided).
Qualifications
  • A university degree in physiotherapy,
  • Prior clinical experience in stroke rehabilitation, including stroke assessment, understanding the pathology of stroke, and working with stroke patients with disabilities,
  • They must have prior experience in working and communicating with a multidisciplinary team,
  • Experience with rehabilitation delivered by videoconference is preferred,
  • Experience with research activities is an asset.

The part time work is remote, but the candidate must work within the Province of British Columbia – regions outside of British Columbia are not approved for this posting.
