Job summary

Honeycomb Creative Inc. is seeking an experienced WordPress Full Stack Developer to serve as a holiday and backup technical coverage resource.

The role focuses on understanding our systems and stepping in when senior developers are unavailable, with minimal regular project work. The ideal candidate thrives in a low-volume retainer arrangement, keeps systems secure and optimized, and communicates clearly via Slack and email.

Qualifications

• WordPress development with custom themes, plugins and advanced customization.
• WooCommerce customizations, integrations and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in PHP and frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3).
• Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB databases and server access tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide holiday/absence coverage for internal development team.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues across websites, apps, servers and databases.
• Make safe code/configuration updates as needed.
• Assess how existing functionality was built and determine safest modification approaches.
• Maintain familiarity with Honeycomb Creative systems during coverage periods.
