The starting annual salary for this full-time School Teacher position ranges from $61,838 to $108,458, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

Abbotsford Middle School is a grade 6-8 International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program school with 690 students. IB training and experience is an asset, but not a requirement for the job. Our school goals are based on Literacy, Numeracy, Social-Emotional Learning, and Innovative Pedagogy.

  • This opportunity is a temporary UFN contract, which is subject to change or cancel before June 26, 2026. In the event the teacher returns to work (work-hardening, part-time, full-time) before the end of the school year, the duration and/or FTE of this temporary assignment will be amended. The successful applicant must accept the reduced work week (amended to a part-time contract) but will have the option to remain in a temporary 1.0 FTE contract by working as a Priority TTOC on other days until June 26, 2026.
Education & Experience
  • Degree/Diploma in Technical Education with an emphasis in Woodworking, Fine Art with a major/minor in Performing Art
  • Experience teaching Woodwork, drama, Makerspace, digital arts at the Middle School level.
  • Eligible for B.C. Certification
  • Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports
