Job summary

WesTower Communications Ltd. in Canada seeks a Field Technician to oversee and complete equipment installations across the province. The role requires independent work and problem solving aligned with our core values.

You will design and document wireless networks, prepare bills of materials, respond to RFPs/RFQs, and ensure safety and quality throughout projects. A technologist diploma or equivalent military training with 2+ years wireless experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Technologist Diploma or military training/certification from a recognized provincial body.
• Minimum two years’ experience in wireless environments with strong knowledge of Fiber optics.
• Ability to perform testing with OTDR / Fusion Splicer.
• Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams, network schematics, and layout drawings.
• Experience in telecom/microwave/SCADA is an asset.
• Exposure to GE MDS wireless product is an asset.
• Experience in field measurement and testing of communications systems.
• Willingness to stay up-to-date with technology changes.
• Ability to set and achieve goals and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with wireless design proposals.
• Perform microwave, mobile, and cellular design.
• Create bill of materials and scope of work.
• Produce network and site design documentation for projects.
• Respond to technical RFPs/RFQs.
