Job summary

Oceanside Equipment Limited in Mount Pearl, NL, is hiring a Wire Rope Fabricator to fabricate and refurbish wire rope slings and other lifting assemblies. Responsibilities include fabricating and splicing slings, operating swaging and test-bench machines, and ensuring rigging accuracy.

Candidates should have manufacturing experience, be able to lift up to 70 pounds, and be comfortable standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in a manufacturing role using various tools.
• Forklift experience is highly preferred, willing to certify.
• Lifting gear inspection and ASME rigging fundamentals and requirements.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and splice slings (Synthetic Rope, Wire Rope, Chain, hardware).
• Operate machinery: Swaging Machine, Test-bench Machine, Reel Coiler Machine, Annealing Machine.
• Familiar with rigging terminology & procedures.
• Test strength and flexibility of Wire Ropes / Chain / Synthetic Rope, Wire Rope Terminations, Rope Removal Criteria, Wire Rope Examination Procedures.

Salary Range: $21.00 To $23.00 Annually

Job Purpose:

The Wire Rope Fabricator will fabricate and refurbish wire rope slings and other lifting assemblies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Fabricating/Splicing various slings (Synthetic Rope, Wire Rope, Chain, hardware)
• Operating Machinery; Swaging Machine, Test-bench Machine, Reel Coiler Machine, Annealing Machine,
• Familiar with rigging equipment terminology & procedures
• Testing strength and flexibility of Wire Ropes / Chain / Synthetic Rope, Wire Rope Terminations, Rope Removal Criteria, Wire Rope Examination Procedures

Job Requirements:

• Must have experience in manufacturing role working with various tools.
• Forklift experience highly preferred, willing to certify.
• Lifting Gear Inspection, Wire Rope Examiner and ASME rigging fundamentals and requirements.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Must be comfortable standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be authorized to work in the Canada without sponsorship.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
