Winter Seasonal Patroller, Highway Maintenance (G License)

You will be responsible for winter and seasonal patrolling and maintenance of Ontario highways using various equipment.

Work Conditions
  • Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
  • As we respond to various weather patterns, some shift work, on‑call, and night shift may be required in addition to scheduled patrols
  • Seasonal work from September to May
Essential Responsibilities
  • Patrol highways and report road conditions
  • Monitor and record weather events and forecasts
  • Recommend priority locations to address to your lead hand or shop supervisor
  • Contact operators to bring on shift as required
  • Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
  • Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year‑round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
  • Help ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly
Qualifications
  • Preference to those who possess an AZ or DZ license, and must have a minimum G License and have a clear 3‑year driver’s abstract
  • Must have knowledge of provincial and/or municipal highway maintenance specifications
  • Have professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Be approachable, ethical, and accountable
  • Snow plow and loader experience is an asset
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word
