Job summary

Ledcor Highways Ltd. (LHL) in Ontario is hiring for winter and seasonal highway maintenance, operating snowplows, wheel loaders and other heavy equipment. Local applicants are preferred, with camp accommodations and meal allowances available in select communities.

Shifts run 8–12 hours, 5/2 or 6/1 schedules, Oct 1 to Apr 30, you must have AZ or DZ license and a clean driver’s abstract. Compensation ranges from CAD 25.50 to CAD 33.50 per hour, with premiums and union benefits through CLAC.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis, bending, kneeling, crouching etc.
• Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
• Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract
• Previous experience operating a snow plow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplows, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
• Work outside in all weather conditions
