Agnico Eagle Mines invites motivated students to join their Meadowbank Complex as an internship in geology. The role focuses on field-heavy tasks, with approximately 90% field work and 10% office work, offering hands-on experience in drill, blast, sample collection, and QA/QC.

Schedule is 14 days on, 14 days off, accommodations and meals provided on site, and charter flights arranged. Candidates enrolled in geoscience or geological engineering programs with a passion for responsible mining are

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in geoscience or geological engineering or related fields.
  • Mining experience is an asset.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drill, blast and excavation monitoring in regard to the mine geology grade control standards.
  • QA/QC on the field (regular audits of the sampling).
  • Layout of ore packets on the blasted muck to define ore zones before mining.
  • Daily sample collection from the mine, shipment to the lab and monitoring.
  • Possible involvement with the underground production geology team on a daily need basis.
  • Any other tasks identified by the senior grade control or production geologist.
  • Position is approximately 90% field work and 10% office work.

Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
