Job summary

GIRO Inc. is seeking a Software Development Intern to join its Algorithms team for the Winter 2027 term in Montreal. You will contribute to the development of optimization algorithms and collaborate with software experts in the public transport and postal services sectors.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least two years of a bachelor’s degree or pursuing a master’s degree in CS, Math and CS, or Software Engineering with OR specialization.
• Strong knowledge of object‑oriented programming in C++ and operations research.
• Fluent written and spoken French.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the design and development phases of a large-scale software product suite, including architectural design and programming.
• Developing new optimization algorithm features within our applications.
• Implementing and testing software features.
• Managing defects and identifying solutions to resolve them.
• Provide technical support to development and project teams as needed.

You will be part of a team specialized in the development of optimization algorithms and will collaborate with software experts who have extensive expertise in the public transit and postal services industries. • Participating in the design and development phases of a large-scale software product suite, including functional design, architecture, detailed analysis, and programming.

THE SKILLS THAT WILL MAKE YOU AN ESSENTIAL MEMBER OF OUR TEAM

You have completed at least two years of a bachelor's degree or are pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics and Computer Science, or Software Engineering, with a specialization in Operations Research. You enjoy and have a strong knowledge of object-oriented programming in C++ and operations research. You enjoy working as part of a team and thrive in a collaborative environment. You are highly proficient in spoken and written French.
