Dayforce is seeking a Software Developer / Site Reliability Engineer Intern to join the engineering team in Toronto. You will contribute to software reliability, automation, observability, and operational improvements while gaining hands-on experience with enterprise-scale systems.

You will collaborate with developers and Cloud Operations, learning to enhance monitoring, CI/CD, and production reliability using modern tools and AI-powered development platforms.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with languages such as C#, Java, Python.

Responsibilities

  • Improve system reliability, observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting across engineering services.
  • Analyze application and system issues, troubleshoot failures, and help identify root causes.
  • Develop automation and tools to reduce manual operational effort and improve engineering efficiency.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and operational workflows.
  • Help identify reliability risks and implement improvements to system resilience and performance.
  • Build dashboards, metrics, and health checks to improve visibility into system and application health.
  • Support production issue investigation and participate in root‑cause analysis and follow‑up improvements.
  • Explore and apply AI‑powered development tools and AI agents to improve engineering and operational productivity.
  • Work closely with developers, Cloud Operations, and other engineering teams to improve reliability and adoption of engineering solutions.

About the opportunity:
