Job summary

Silvacom Ltd. is seeking a field-oriented environmental planner to join our Energy & Environment team in Western Canada.

The role blends office and in-field work across Alberta, focusing on wildfire mitigation planning, habitat restoration support, and spatial data analysis for municipal, forestry, oil and gas, and government projects. You will collect environmental data, prepare technical reports, maps, and regulatory documents, and help coordinate tasks with contractors and clients while

Qualifications

• Field-focused degree or diploma in forestry, environmental science, or related discipline, with interest in wildfire planning.
• Graduate degree is an asset but not required.
• Eligible for professional designation such as RPF, RPFT, P.Bio., P.Ag., EP, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement wildfire mitigation strategies and treatment plans.
• Assess wildfire risk and fuel hazards; interpret vegetation, fuel types, and stand structure to inform planning.
• Contribute to treatment prescriptions including thinning, pruning, mowing, and other mechanical fuels work.
• Conduct field assessments and collect environmental, vegetation, and geospatial data.
• Assist habitat restoration planning, implementation, and monitoring.
• Support field operations, contractors, and project logistics.
• Analyze environmental and spatial data to support project decisions.
• Prepare technical reports, maps, presentations, and regulatory documentation.
• Coordinate project tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
• Support client engagement and stakeholder communications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge development.
