Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of projects while ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities
  • Cut, assemble, install and sand MDF/Wood mouldings
  • Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials using hand tools and power tools
  • Install interior doors and railing systems
  • Perform tasks such as caulking, sanding, and prep work as required
  • Assemble furniture or cabinetry according to specifications
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals including electricians/plumbers for integrated project execution
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in joinery techniques and ensuring accurate installations
  • Experience in finish carpentry, cabinetry and railings is an asset
  • Familiarity with miter and table saws for precise cutting and shaping
  • Ability to build various wooden structures with precision
  • Skills in panel construction for both functional and decorative purposes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Apprentices preferred, journeyman welcome; all carpenters can apply but finishing experience is an asset
  • Must reside in Alberta to apply
Work Details
  • Out-of-town work starting September/October in Jasper, AB: 1–2 year duration
  • Stay in Hinton; work in Jasper
  • $60/day LOA; accommodations provided
  • Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off OR 10 days on, 4 days off depending on workload
  • Overtime after 8 hours
  • Bi-weekly pay
  • $75 pay for employee to purchase Blue Cross Benefits
