Qualifications

The Wellness Nurse assists the Director and supervises the direct care of the residents being provided by the caregivers.

Schedule: Full-Time Sunday - Thursday 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Wage: $34.75 - $37.00 per hour based on experience

Job Description

  • Checking that each resident is receiving the care and services to meet their needs and that their environmental cleanliness is maintained.
  • Supervises the Medication Technicians to comply with RCFE regulations and ensuring that documentation and medication assistance is completed and that all required and any other pertinent information is given/reported to either themselves and/or the Director before the end of the respective shift.
  • Conducts regular in-services and trainings to medication technicians and caregivers on relevant topics. Audits medication records on a regular basis.
  • Responsible to assist the Director with contacting resident’s attending physicians for significant changes of condition, new admission orders, discharge orders and all necessary changes in medication and treatment orders. Responsible for notifying resident family members/surrogate decision makers of significant changes in condition, changes in medication and treatment orders, obtaining informed consents, developing resident care plans, documents all physician, resident, family member/surrogate decision maker communication.
  • Respond quickly, calmly and professionally to medical emergencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

What you will bring

Our ideal candidate will be reliable and follow safety procedures and duties assigned by a supervisor.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse License in good standing with the LVN Board of Nursing.
  • At least one-year of experience with providing direct nursing care to the elderly and chronically ill patients preferably in an Assisted Living facility.
  • Knowledge of Title 22 RCFE Regulations preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
