Job summary

Partner Company in Canada is seeking a Technical Welding Associate to support major industrial and energy infrastructure projects. You will perform welding inspection, testing, documentation, and QA activities under supervision, while collaborating with engineers, technologists, and trades professionals.

The role emphasizes safety, traceability, and compliance with codes and standards. A strong focus on developing welding procedures and client support across fabrication projects is essential.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Welding Engineering or related program is required.
• Welding Examiner Certificate of Competency (ABSA) required.
• CSA W178.2 Level 2 Welding Inspector Certificate required.
• Eligible to register for T.T., C.E.T., or E.I.T. status.
• Ability to interpret welding specifications, codes, technical documentation, and lab test results accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation/traceability.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, technologists, tradespeople, and clients to support delivery of construction and fabrication projects, especially in oil and gas infrastructure.
• Interpret regulatory requirements, industry codes, standards, and customer specifications related to welding, fabrication, and materials.
• Monitor welding parameters and assist with PQRs and WPSs under supervision.
• Prepare internal work orders communicating testing requirements and maintain traceability of samples and documentation.
• Interpret laboratory test results and provide technical information under supervision.
• Conduct welder qualification testing under supervision and ensure compliance.
• Support clients with implementation of welding processes and technologies.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and comply with health and safety requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Take on special assignments and ad hoc technical projects as needed.
