Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring Welders, Spot Welders, and Machine Operators for an upcoming assignment in Southern Ontario. The role requires 12 hour shifts, 5 days per week when on project.

This is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable for someone currently working full time. You will earn $35 per hour before overtime, along with a $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance when lodging is required, paid travel (up to 4 hours when lodging is required), and hotel accommodations

Qualifications

• Experience in welding or spot welding in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings and set up machines.
• Welding or Spot Welding experience in steel or metal fabrication an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Read blueprints and maintain quality according to specifications.
• Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot assigned machines.
• Inspect parts to specifications and make adjustments as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping for a safe work environment.
• Work effectively as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability to operate machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with welding or spot welding.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings
• Set up, monitor, operate and troubleshoot assigned machines
• Inspect parts to specifications
• Make adjustments or tool changes as necessary
• Housekeeping duties as required for a safe work environment

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing environment
• Welding or Spot Welding experience
• Experience in steel or metal fabrication industry (an asset)
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Physically able to bend, lift, stand and reach
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
• Basic computer skills
• Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
