Job summary

IAMGOLD is seeking a Welder for Mobile Maintenance at our Côté Gold operations in Canada. The Welder will perform welding and fabrication to maintain, repair, and modify mobile mining equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and uptime.

The role requires 5+ years of welding in mining or heavy industry, certification, and experience with SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW. The position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of welding experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Trades certificate or provincial certification (CWB preferred).
• Experience with mobile mining equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, drills and excavators.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license; able to work in remote mining environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding repairs and fabrication on mining equipment.
• Use SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and oxy-acetylene processes to complete repairs.
• Inspect components for cracks, wear, and deficiencies and repair accordingly.
• Repair and rebuild wear parts like buckets, blades, GET components.
• Ensure welding meets CWB standards, OEM specs, and site requirements.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures and PPE use.
• Complete field welding repairs and minimize downtime alongside maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams and share welding expertise.

We're actively seeking for a Welder. The Welder will be responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks to maintain, repair, and modify mobile mining equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency. Working closely with the maintenance team, this role supports continuous improvement in asset performance while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform structural welding repairs and fabrication on mining equipment such as haul trucks, excavators, dozers, and drilling rigs.
• Use a variety of welding and cutting processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and oxy-acetylene) to complete high-quality repairs and modifications.
• Inspect equipment components for cracks, wear, and structural deficiencies, and complete timely, effective repairs.
• Repair and rebuild high-wear components including buckets, blades, truck boxes, undercarriage elements, and Ground Engaging Tools (GET).
• Ensure all welding work meets Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) standards, OEM specifications, and site quality requirements.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including proper PPE use, lockout/tagout practices, and fire hazard prevention.
• Complete field welding repairs safely and efficiently while supporting maintenance schedules and minimizing equipment downtime.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance teams, sharing welding expertise, assisting with troubleshooting, and supporting operational reliability.

Qualifications

Key Skills & Knowledge:

• Trades Certificate or equivalent provincial certification (CWB preferred).
• Equivalent Technical Experience will be considered as well.
• 5+ years of welding experience in mining, construction, or heavy industry.
• Experience with mobile mining equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, drills, and excavators.

Skills & Strengths, We Value:

• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
• Experience with high-pressure welding and structural fabrication.
• Ability to weld in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
• Familiarity with working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to work in a remote mining environment.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Salary Range: $89,000 - $133,500+ Bonus
