Job summary

JPB FabricationServices (2019) Inc. in Smiths Falls, ON invites applications for a Welder role. This is a permanent, full-time position with a pay range of $20.00 to $30.00 hourly, based on 42.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will interpret welding blueprints, operate manual and automated welding equipment, and ensure welds meet required standards. A Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate and an English language fluency are required.

Qualifications

• Interpret welding process specifications.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
• Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment.
• Examine welds and ensure they meet standards and/or specifications.

• The candidate must interpret welding process specifications.
• The candidate must be able to use manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment.
• The candidate must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
• The candidate will be expected to examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
• The candidate must be able to operate either manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• The candidate will be required to operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
• The candidate will be expected to fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal.
• The candidate must be able to use oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) (AOC).
• The candidate must be able to use hoisting and lifting equipment.
• The candidate must operate previously set‑up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams in metal.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have an Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
• Candidate having experience is an asset.
• The candidate must have a Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate.
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Welding techniques

• The welding techniques are Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW),Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and Plasma arc welding (PAW).

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must have prior experience with an Arc welding machine, a Butt or seam resistance welding machine, a Gas welding machine, a Soldering machine, and a Spot welding machine.

Area of specialization

• The candidate must be skilled in custom fabrication, machinery or equipment repair.
