Job summary

Minty’s Moving Ltd. is seeking a Shop Welder who will report to the Logistics Manager and repair, maintain, and construct steel equipment and other apparatus as required.

Responsibilities include planning daily work, confirming materials are available, performing welding and related tasks, and keeping the welding bay clean and safe. Candidates must read and write English, hold CWB certification, and may have skid steer or telehandler experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold Canadian Welding Bureau certification.
• Journeyman or apprentice welder status required or pursued.
• Ability to read and write English and operate basic hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily work based on the Logistics Manager's instructions.
• Confirm materials and equipment are available before starting.
• Perform cutting, torching, grinding, drilling, gouging and welding tasks.
• Keep welding bay clean and tools organized at end of day.
• Maintain tools and follow all safety procedures.

Job description

Minty's Moving Ltd. is seeking a Shop Welder who will report to the Logistics Manager and repair, maintain, and construct steel equipment and other apparatus as required.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning daily work based on the Logistics Manager's instructions,
• Confirming that required materials and equipment are available,
• Performing cutting, torching, grinding, drilling, gouging, and welding,
• Keeping the welding bay clean and orderly, storing tools at the end of each workday,
• Maintaining tools in good working order and following all company safety procedures and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Applicants must hold Canadian Welding Bureau certification and be a journeyman or apprentice welder,
• To be able to read and write English, and be capable of operating basic hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment;
• Blueprint-reading skills and experience operating a skid steer or telehandler are assets.

This is a 50-hour-per-week position based in the shop or yard, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions and work around welding smoke, debris, and flash, with multiple projects underway at the same time.

Candidates must be in good physical condition, have good hand-eye coordination, and be able to lift to 50 lb.
