Job summary

Triple Eight Group of Companies in Abbotsford, BC, is seeking a skilled welder to interpret welding specs and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.

You will inspect welds, cut with flame-cutting gear, and fabricate metal parts, with a focus on safety and quality. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week and a permanent employment term.

Applicants should have a Secondary school certificate and roughly 2–3 years welding experience.

Qualifications

  • 2 to less than 3 years welding experience.
  • Experience with manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret welding process specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
  • Examine welds and ensure they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
  • Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines.
  • Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal.
  • Determine weldability of materials.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment.
