Job summary

Argus is seeking a Weiler Machinist to safely operate a Weiler E-series Production Lathe (Siemens 840D) and finish parts to customer specifications. You will work closely with the team to ensure orders are completed and shipped on time.

Key duties include setting up, programming adjustments during runs, using measuring tools, interpreting drawings, and moving materials with cranes and pallet jacks. A Journeyman Machinist ticket is an asset, with Lean / safety practices valued in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Experience running a conversational Weiler lathe.
• Journeyman Machinist ticket is an asset.
• General understanding of safe work practices, quality assurance requirements, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor machine in a responsible, diligent, and efficient manner.
• Fix programs during production runs as required.
• Use measuring tools, gauges, and controls as required.
• Manufacture routine, complex, and non-routine parts from raw materials.
• Interpret production order information, including part descriptions, material grade, documents, and drawings.
• Use overhead cranes and pallet jacks to safely maneuver raw material/ finished product within the manufacturing plant.
• Plans and prioritizes workload to complete work orders within deadlines, utilizing appropriate resources for each job.
• Completes product documentation for work carried out and routes the product and related documentation to the appropriate location.

Job description

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Weiler Machinist safely and efficiently operates a Weiler E-series Production Lathe (control type Siemens 840D), finishes products accurately, and works effectively with team members to complete and ship orders on time.

Accountabilities:

Role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Set up, operate, and monitor machine in a responsible, diligent, and efficient manner. Fix programs during production runs as required. Use measuring tools, gauges, and controls as required.
• Carry out work order instructions to program machine to customer specifications. Manufacture routine, complex, and non-routine parts from raw materials.
• Interpret production order information, including part descriptions, material grade, documents, and drawings.
• Use overhead cranes and pallet jacks to safely maneuver raw material/ finished product within the manufacturing plant.
• Plans and prioritizes workload to complete work orders within deadlines, utilizing appropriate resources for each job.
• Completes product documentation for work carried out. Routes the product and related documentation to the appropriate location once completed.
