What you will do:

  • Lead the 680 NewsRadio weekend team, serving as supervisor and afternoon news editor-ensure that the news product we are creating is trusted, useful, interesting, and impactful.
  • Manage schedule changes in a 24-7 news environment.
  • Coach and develop an amazing team of broadcasters and be the team’s biggest cheerleader to ensure that every weekend in the newsroom is a great one.
  • Develop strategies to help the team and the business achieve its goals.
  • Ensure news team adheres to the Rogers News Policy and to the code of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council.

What you will bring:

  • A minimum of 4 years in a working newsroom, preferably in a medium or major market-previous on air and coaching experience.
  • Impeccable news sense and news judgement-an extraordinarily positive, can-do attitude, and strong desire to be #1.
  • Ability to work with a team under extremely tight deadlines-excellent knowledge of the politics, people and what people are talking about in the GTA.
  • A strategic mind who can bring new ideas to the brand and encourage the team to be at its best-excellent communication and organizational skills-knowledge of the Burli newsroom operating system
