Job summary

Omega Tool Corp invites applications for a Weekend Mold Maker. This role concentrates on fabricating and repairing molds while complying with all safety, ISO quality, and company policies. You will interpret blueprints, operate metalworking tools, and support mold maintenance and overhaul projects.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings and manuals.
• Time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks.

• Capable of operating forklift and crane.
• Proficient with computers and basic software (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and follow plans, blue-print designs and complex process diagrams.
• Fabricate components using metal cutting machines, saws, drills, grinders, lathes and mills.
• Measure for quality control using precision tools to detect defects and report to supervisor.
• Fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during mold build, maintenance or overhaul.
• Attend customer service calls as needed.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the working area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Mold Maker

The Weekend Mold Maker is responsible for fabricating and repairing molds. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health and safety policies, and ISO quality program and procedures.

Job Details

• Weekend Shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Monthly Rotation (6AM-6PM, 6PM-6AM)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Enrolled in OYAP and/or Completion of post secondary education OR Completion of secondary school and a four-year apprenticeship OR college diploma in a manufacturing field or a related discipline
• Proficient in computers with the ability to use various computer applications depending on skill level such as Microsoft Office, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals and specifications
• Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry and their applications
• Capable of recognizing and solving problems
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner
• Capable of operating heavy equipment such as a forklift and crane

Responsibilities

• Prepare and follow company plans, blue-print designs, and complex work process diagrams
• Build components using appropriate equipment such as metal cutting machines, saws, drills, grinders, lathes, mills, etc.
• Measure for quality control using precision tools and equipment to detect equipment malfunctions, out of tolerance parts, and other defects, reporting these to the supervisor
• Fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during mold build, maintenance, or overhaul
• Attend customer service calls as needed
• General housekeeping of working area
• Other duties as assigned
