Reliable Controls is seeking an experienced Web UI/UX Designer to craft intuitive, user-centered web experiences that engage operators with our building automation products. Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in UI/UX, web design, or related design role.
  • Strong experience using Figma to create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and handoff docs.
  • Solid understanding of web design principles, responsive layouts, accessibility, and how designs are implemented by dev teams.
  • Experience designing intuitive, user-centered web experiences prioritizing usability and accessibility.
  • Collaborative approach across creative, technical, marketing, and development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with developers, project leads, and internal stakeholders to gather user requirements and translate them into intuitive web experiences.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that bring design concepts to life and support seamless user journeys.
  • Design and refine responsive interface components, including navigation, forms, buttons, and menus, for engaging, accessible web experiences.
  • Participate in usability testing, accessibility reviews, and user feedback sessions to continuously improve UX.
  • Apply and evolve established UI/UX design systems and style guides for consistency across web platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Web Operations development team to deliver accessible, user-friendly corporate websites and web apps.
  • Prepare clear design specifications, documentation, and developer handoffs for efficient implementation.
  • Contribute to design reviews and brainstorming, incorporating feedback to strengthen solutions.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in UI/UX design, responsive design, usability, and accessibility (WCAG).

Your Mission

As a Web UI/UX Designer, you'll design intuitive, user‑centered web experiences that help people engage with Reliable Controls online. You'll collaborate across creative and technical teams to improve usability, evolve our design systems, and create accessible, engaging experiences that make a meaningful impact for our users.

In This Role You Will

  • Contribute to design reviews and collaborative brainstorming sessions, incorporating feedback to refine and strengthen design solutions.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and best practices in UI/UX design, responsive design, usability, and web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Help maintain the overall visual quality, usability, and interaction design across all Reliable Controls website services.
Qualifications
  • A diploma or degree in UI/UX Design, Web Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in UI/UX, web design, or a related design role.
  • Strong experience using Figma to create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design handoff documentation.
  • A solid understanding of web design principles, responsive layouts, accessibility, and how designs are implemented by development teams.
  • Experience designing intuitive, user‑centered web experiences that prioritize usability and accessibility.
  • A collaborative approach and comfort working across creative, technical, marketing, and development teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present design decisions and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.
  • A growth mindset with a genuine interest in improving user experiences, evolving design systems, and continuing to grow your design skills.

The full compensation band for this role is $65,000 – $100,000 CAD annually. Please note that the hiring range for this position is $75,000 – $82,000 CAD. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
