Job summary

Libro Credit Union is seeking a Wealth Compliance Officer to support the London Administration team. The role involves ensuring adherence to mutual fund policies, CIRO standards, and regulatory requirements across Libro and Aviso Wealth.

The incumbent will coordinate licensing, supervision, audits and regulatory reporting while delivering training and support to Wealth teams. A licensed mutual fund professional with 2+ years’ experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in the financial sector with some business courses.
  • Knowledgeable of Investments, Mutual Funds and Registered plans.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Ovation RM/Teller Manager; familiarity with Dataphile, eAdvisor, KnowledgeXchange, Advisor Hub.
  • Mutual fund licensing experience a must (2+ years).
  • Completion of IFC/CSC/ CIFC accepted if recent.
  • BCO certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Daily review and approval of mutual fund activities per KYC to ensure investment objectives.
  • Monitor licensed staff under supervision requirements and pre-approve trades.
  • Respond to inquiries from Aviso Wealth Compliance and regulators.
  • Coordinate complaints and privacy concerns for Aviso Wealth clients.
  • Register staff for mutual fund licenses and report changes to Aviso Wealth/CIRO/OSC.
  • Prepare for Aviso Wealth annual audits and regulator audits.

We are currently hiring a Wealth Compliance Officer to support our London Administration team. This job posting is for an existing vacancy.

Support staff with a mutual fund license by ensuring adherence to established compliance policies, procedures, and practices of Libro Credit Union, our mutual fund dealer, Aviso Wealth Inc. and the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) standards. Deliver expert advice, training, compliance and operational support to Wealth teams throughout all Libro branches to help ensure suitable investment advice, recommendations and outcomes for members.

This role is mutual fund licensed and dually employed between Libro Credit Union and Aviso Wealth Inc.

The base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, education/training and internal equity. Our compensation practices are equitable and transparent, and support progression through the salary range as employees grow in the role.

The Role
  • Daily review and approval of all mutual fund registerable activities in accordance with the Know Your Client information to ensure investments meet the stated objectives.
  • Monitor activities of licensed staff on New Representative Supervision and Strict Supervision requirements - including pre-approval of trades, review of documentation and notes to file, providing support with respect to trades, compliance issues and requirement. Monthly review of files for new licensed representatives during the 2nd 90 Day Supervision period.
  • Respond to inquiries from Aviso Wealth Compliance and other regulators as required.
  • Report and coordinate the resolution of complaints and privacy concerns for clients of Aviso Wealth.
  • Responsible for the registration of staff requiring a mutual fund license and reporting of changes to registration information to Aviso Wealth and other regulators (CIRO, OSC) as required.
  • Responsible for the registration of branches and reporting of any changes or updates to branch information to Aviso Wealth and other regulators (CIRO, OSC).
  • Responsible for preparation and participation in Aviso Wealth annual audits and other audits as required by regulators (CIRO, OSC).
  • Monitor Outside Activity for licensed staff and ensure completion of regulatory reporting required for reportable Outside Activities.
  • Review and approval of all Aviso Wealth sales communications from licensed staff.
  • Facilitate and deliver mutual fund compliance, policy, product and procedure training to all newly licensed and existing Aviso Wealth staff.
  • Provide Branch and Team Support as required on Wealth related inquire.
  • Participation in department meetings, full Wealth Team meetings, and other segment meetings as required.
  • Liaison with the government, Aviso Wealth, mutual fund companies and other agencies or suppliers when necessary.
  • Provide support to the Wealth Compliance, Wealth Operations Team, and other segments on an ad hoc basis to help improve branch processing capabilities, reduce errors, and apply efficient processes to our daily operations (both at admin and in the branches).
  • Assist staff to be passionately accountable, guiding staff in making smart risk decisions
  • Other duties as required.
  • Completion of required reporting for Aviso Wealth, VP - Wealth and Wealth Compliance Supervisor.
What We’re Looking For
  • A degree or diploma in the financial sector with some business courses. Minimum 4-6 years of related experience would be an asset.
  • Knowledgeable of products and services in the area of Investments, Mutual Funds and Registered plans.
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications with the ability to work at an intermediate level in Word, Excel and Ovation Relationship Manager and Teller Manager, advance knowledge of Dealer back-office system, Dataphile & eAdvisor, KnowledgeXchange, Advisor Hub.
  • Completion of Investment Funds in Canada Course (IFC) or the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)*Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) is discontinued but is accepted if previously registered within the last 3 years.
  • Completion of the Branch Compliance Officer’s Course (BCO).
  • Required to have been mutual fund licensed for a period of 2 years.
