What We Do
The primary responsibility of the Wealth Advisor is to provide support and excellent client experiences. The Wealth Advisor will be advising clients on how to invest their portfolios and prepare client plans and proposals. The Wealth Advisor will be making moderate client recommendations and proposal. The Wealth Advisor will provide operational support and work closely with internal partners in portfolio services, investments, products, operations and client services to execute on client relationship strategies.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Work in partnership with transition team in the onboarding process of new clients.
- Act as a concierge to clients to assist with their financial needs and ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Proactively contact existing clients to educate them about products and services to help them onboard their clients through a digital first experience.
- Be resourceful when determining moderate solutions that will add value to the client’s long-term goals.
- Develop investment and financial planning strategies for our clients on how to invest their portfolios and plan for long-term financial goals.
- Advise clients on how to invest their portfolios and plan for moderate / basic financial goals.
- Familiarity with financial planning software to put together plans to address identified client needs and goals.
- Ability to guide clients in an investment suitability assessment.
- Manage assigned client base and ability to work in a team-based model.
- Proactively contact clients and prospects educate them about investment strategies, products and services to help them grow their portfolios.
- Strategize ways to increase client penetration and overall sales.
- Increase number of clients doing business with Fidelity
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Ensure clients receive the appropriate levels of service, including meetings, planning, reporting, and responses to requests / questions.
- Provide exceptional client experience and client service not limited to basic operational support (i.e. website access).
- Liaise with back-office and middle-office to provide operational and on-boarding support.
- Understands Fidelity Values and provides exceptional client service and / or operational support.
What You’ll Need
- Outstanding communication and listening skills; verbal and written. Ability to simplify complicated financial planning concepts.
- In-depth understanding of product structures, capital markets and investments.
- Ability to position appropriate products and investments in the context of current needs as well as clients’ long-term financial plans.
- Exceptional relationship management skills and client-centric focus.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Completion of a University degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in financial services industry.
- Superior knowledge of the investment industry and products.
- Strong familiarity with financial planning tools / software.
- Bilingual in English / French is an asset.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
- Must be licensed as an Registered Representative (RR) and have the ability to sell both mutual funds and securities.
- Must meet CIRO proficiency requirements.
- Working towards CIM or CFA (Level 1) is an asset
- CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or PFP (Personal Financial Planner) is a nice to have.
